"Unknown Loop Street #1"... "North Macchesney Court"...
Found this while walking on N. Macchesney Ct. (a street I am sure you are all familiar with) in the Loop. There are at least a dozen little streets in the Loop that are virtually unkown to the masses, and I am sure most cab drivers. I will try to capture a few of them over the next several weeks.

Fortunately it was below this Public Parking sign directing one as to just where they could park.

Do you know for whom N. Cacchesney Court was named? I am a Scottish historian and that name is Scottish.
Sorry, I did get the name correct. Its N. Macchesney Court, listed as #1.
Thanks,

My father grew up with Nathan and Lena MacChesney at 568 Hawthorne Place, Chicago. Grandfather owned some housing in South Shore, I believe. He may have been born Nathan William McChesney and changed it to MacChesney. He was a Scots Presbyterian, Union League Club, Republican and the Mc looked Irish Catholic Democrat. The name Chesnee is Norman for oak tree. I never heard of a MacChesney Court in Chicago, perhaps it was named for Uncle Brunson. There is now a MacChesney Road or Lane in Lake County where Uncle Brunson gave over 200 acres of Des Plaines River watershed to the County for parkland.
