Elevated... "El"... Or just a simple "L"?...

I call it simply the "L". Chicago would not be Chicago without the "L" roaring overhead when you are walking around the Loop. It is a sound I have grown to love. Not one I want to hear in my living room, but fortunately I live just far enough away that the sound never reaches me at home, even though I can see the trains from my place.


I took this in one in March, of the train rounding the corner from Van Buren to Wells. Captured from the top of a parking garage on Wells, near Jackson.


This image screams CHICAGO!!! If only you could hear it over the roar of the "L" Trains going by.
