Where in the Loop is This?... 03.08.06...
I thought I would try out a new feature on my blog... One image, one question. "Where in the Loop is This?"
Let me know if you can identify the location of where the image was taken, and/or what the image is. No prizes, but I will reveal the answer and first correct guesser the following week. If you think this is a stupid idea, let me know that as well.
This week's image was taken on Monday, note that there really is water running.
Hints...
1:This was shot from street level.
2:There is a good reason why the water would need to be running this time of year.
3:The general public does not have access to this space.
4: The person(s) which would access this space have the word "tender" in their job title.
As a qualifier, I will consider the boundaries of the Loop to be the area between Roosevelt to the south, Chicago Ave to the north, Lake Michigan to the east, and the Kennedy to the west.

I will guess. The bathroom at a bar? How about the Billy Goat?
i'm thinking that's in an El station maybe... for some unknown reason that is my bizarre guess.
No, it's a great idea! But man, this one in particular is so hard; any chance of giving us another clue?
I will put up another clue tomorrow if nobody gets close.
fun idea, but i have no idea. more clues please
The inner workings of the Water Tower on Michigan Ave? Possibly the Water Reclamation Plant out by Navy Pier??? This is tough! Maybe you could give clues each day - like a wider shot or photos of things nearby. I like the concept of this though - very much! Thanks Devyn.

Quad,
Uhh, did I delete your post?, if so, it was an accident. Sorry.
It's a window, no mirrors involved.
I tried to delete my comment because after posting it I realized how stupid it was. The text on the sign in the picture was not backwards, therefore unless you had digitally flipped the image, it was a window and not a mirror. I was trying to hide my shame.
I think your "contest" of sorts is a great idea though.
for your first challenge, maybe you shouldnt have made it so hard...
Wow, sorry for the difficulty level, didn't intend to make it that challenging. (Especially if I don't have a prize to give out.) I will add another clue to the post today.
>D<
Great contest!
The only job description I can think of with the word "tender" in it is "ditch-tender." Guess that just proves that I live out in farm country where there is irrigation, which I gather is not in the Loop.
I haven't a clue where this picture was taken. Could it be somewhere that is exposed to the outside temps and the water must be left on in order to prevent the pipes from freezing?

Oh, geez...I guess "bartender" would be a job discription that fits that requirement, eh?
::slaps forehead::
Chicagolvr is on to something... There is little to no heat in this space.
Bartender? Hmmm... It would be an interesting place of serve liquor, but you couldn't fit very many people in it.
OH! Is it bridge tender? Is this a private bathroom/washroom for someone who mans one of the bridges across the Chicago River?
If I'm close, please don't ask me which specific bridge, though if you did, I'd guess whichever one you have to cross to get to MC.

Am I the only one still wondering where this picture was taken?
i'm still curious too....
I will reveal the answer tonight when I do my next "Where in the Loop" post.
